Kalihiwai Beach

Distance: 20 miles from Kauai Beach Resort

This little slice of tropical paradise is a secluded bay bordered by the Kalihiwai River and a backdrop of rain forest foliage.  This beach, close to the town of Kilauea is awesome little oasis to spend a day soaking up the rays, swinging on the river rope swings or exploring the river by kayak or paddle boarding. You are also close to Kalihiwai Falls, just 25 miles outside of Princeville. 

We recommend stopping in the town of Kilauea at the wonderful Cafe & Market, to pick up snacks, beverages, grab n go food, ice for your day at the beach. It's also convenient to stop in town for java or dinner at one of the many places in the Kong Lung, if that is more your style.

The ocean conditions here can be rough with strong currents and large surf.  For swimming, snorkeling, and boogie boarding it is advisable to choose from one of the lifeguard beaches.
